Is your dog lost? Typically, your dog has just escaped from your yard or home and
is simply roaming the neighborhood having a great time. Here is a checklist of ideas to
assist in finding your lost dog:
- Check the obvious locations like your alley, the neighbors yard, or the local park.
While looking try to speak to everyone you see notifying them that your dog is loose and
to please call you if he/she is spotted. Be sure to give them your dog's name and
description.
- Look for the Mail Man, gardeners and landscape workers and neighborhood children. A
child on a bicycle with the motivation of a $5.00 reward can cover a lot of territory.
- Post signs on each street corner within a two mile radius of your home.
- Notify your vet and the city.
- Post notices at your local grocer and pet store. These notices should include a recent
photo if possible.
Usually your dog is returned to you within 24 hours.
If you rescue a stray dog follow the same procedures as above. Chances are someone is
looking for the dog.
